I have a problem with the Waldorf PPG 3.V plugin. On my system it can't read some sound sources of various patches which leads to patches not working correctly. The plugin can read banks/patches, but, for some reason, not all sound sources. I tested with SAVIhost, it only works when i use 'run as administrator'. So plugin hosts, like Cubase or SAVIhost, need full admin privileges to run PPG correctly. No other plugin on my machine needs this.
I'm using Window 10 Pro (logged in as admin) and Cubase 11 Pro (latest). PPG plugin is the latest VST3 version.
The VST3 plugin is located in the standard VST3 folder.
The PPG sound library folder which contains all banks/patches and sound sources is located in this folder
"C:\ProgramData\Waldorf\PPG Wave 3.V\PPG Wave 3.V Sounds"
I looked at the file permissions which look like this:
- Owner is Administrators
- Adminstrators (full control)
- Users (read permission)
So it looks like READ permission is available for all users. At least i think it is.
I don't want to run my DAW as admin because of a single plugin not working correctly. There must be a way fix this.
I know that, although i'm logged in as admin, applications get reduced privilegs per default. I assume plugins inherit privileges from the host application.
What can i do to solve this issue?
Thanks in advance!
